On location when several departments converge onto one
situation, there is a lead that has the responsibility of tracking each
individual who is there to assist in the dangerous situation or emergency. Many
smaller fire departments have had to use driver's licenses or another form of
identification that did not clearly specify the training or origin of the
fireman.
For years FullIdentity has been producing ID cards
for just such volunteer and paid fire departments. From adding the local's logo
or city government insignia, to creating full color coded ID cards based on the
training of each individual for quick identification of how to use everyone on
the scene. Many of the common things we have seen on these Fire Department
badges are items such as the following:
- Years of Service
- Specialized Training
- Local's Logos & Emblems
- Name & Rank
- Blood Type
- Medical Information or Conditions
|
Many fire departments have ended up purchasing two id cards for each
volunteer so that one can be left at the firehouse or assigned truck, and
another to be carried in their wallet in case they are sent straight to the scene.
One of the good things about using the services of FullIdentity
is that when a badge is lost or another volunteer or employee joins the
department, it's simple for the department to order new badges for the rookie.
