First you need to open Microsoft Paint. Click on the Start
Button, then Programs, then Accessories, then Paint. Yeah, you
got it, that program that the kids play with and color these
really goffy looking pictures. When the program opens you should
see something like this on your screen.

Next you need to open one of your pictures. Click on File,
Open and locate your first picture. When you select it, click the
OK button and the picture should appear in the window of
Microsoft Paint. Now, for my example, I'm going to show a picture
of a few kids and then crop out one of them and create a new
image that will work for our purposes.
Now click on the dotted box with your cursor as shown below

Next Click in the upper left hand corner of the player and
then while holding the button down, drag to the lower left hand
corner of the required image.

Now click on Edit, Copy. This saves the section of the image
to memory.
Then click on File, New and don't save the changes if it
prompt's you.
Click on Image, Attributes. and a window will pop up as shown
below

Change the both the Width and Height to 10, verify that the
Units is set to Pixels. Then click OK. This will change the
default image size to almost a dot and will prevent your image
from having any white borders causing your image to be bigger
than necessary.
Now, click Edit, Paste and the image that you selected will
pop up on the screen.

Click on File, Save and Be sure to select JPG or GIF as the
file type.
You've just cropped a picture!
