How to Prevent a Broken ID Badge

How to Prevent a Broken ID BadgeHave you ever bumped into the issue where your ID badge breaks right where the hole punch is? Yeah, me too. That’s frustrating! Unfortunately, it’s a fairly common issue, but it can be avoided. Here are a few tips to help you steer clear of breaking your ID badge.

ID Badge Holder – Instead of punching a hole in your badge, try using a badge holder instead. You can simply slide the badge into the holder and then clip your badge reel or lanyard to the holder instead of directly to the card.

Sticky Clips – This is another accessory that you can use to prevent against breakage. Instead of clipping to your card, this accessory will adhere to the back of your card and then clipped to your shirt or jacket.

Card Clamps / Grippers – There are accessories that utilize clamps and grippers instead of clips which use friction to hold the badge in place. This methods does not require a hole punch and can be a good preventative measure against breakage.

Composite Cards – If you don’t prefer the accessories route, consider switching to composite cards. Because of the material that is used, they are signficantly stronger and more durable than regular PVC cards.
