When we think about ID cards, most people default to thinking about the standard, credit card sized IDs. However, there are quite a few options that you may not have considered before. What I’d like to talk about today is the use of key tags for identification purposes.
What Are Key Tags?
Key tags are small cards that are typically seen hanging from a key chain and are often for practical and frequent use. They are great for that because they are effective, easily accessed and don’t take up any space in your wallet or bag.
Here are a few ways you can use key tags for identification purposes:
- Student or Business ID Cards – ID cards are very popular and necessary when it comes to schools and business. However, it’s not always necessary to have an ID displayed on your person at all times. In that case, instead of having to take up space in your wallet or risk losing it in your bag, you can simply print your ID on a tag and keep it on your key chain! You also have the ability to print barcodes for those who need to scan their ID for facility access, attendance, cafeteria purchases or checking out books.
- Health & Fitness Clubs – If you’re a health club owner and want to implement an updated identification system. Key tags are a great option. Most people coming to the gym want to be as minimal as possible in terms of what they have to carry around and key tags can help!
- Retail Membership & Rewards – Key tags are great for membership discounts and rewards. They are always on hand ready to be scanned at a moments notice!
As a side note, it’s important to consider that key tags are printed in higher quantities than regular ID cards. Though the methods are the same in terms of how they are printed, they come in packs and are all printed at the same time in which case you would separate them after the printing is done.
